It looks like the Xbox One will be taking a page out of the PlayStation 4‘s book and allowing users to play games while they’re being downloaded. Originally, we were under the impression that disc-based games could be launched after partial installation. But a Microsoft rep elaborated on this with Polygon and confirmed that downloads will share this same feature.

Sony announced this as a PlayStation 4 capability back during their February console reveal. With this feature heading to the Xbox One, that makes the consoles that much more identical to each other. It looks like this generation of competition between the big two is going to be a lot closer than we thought a month ago.
