Many thought that Electronic Arts would act as they’ve been known to in the past: release their “exclusive” Xbox title to multiple platforms after a period of exclusive time has dwindled down. Well you can chuck any thought of that happening out the window as EA has made it vocal that Titanfall will remain on Xbox One, 360 and PC “for the life of the title.” Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen made it rather clear in EA’s financial call that we won’t be seeing Titanfall on any other platform.
“In the case of Titanfall, it’s a brand new IP and it’s exclusive only for the life of the title on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and PC,” Jorgensen said.
He didn’t reference the franchise as a whole, meaning a Titanfall: Game Of The Year edition or a Titanfall 2 version could easily surface on the PlayStation 4. But at least for now, don’t expect to see Respawn Entertainment’s new IP on any Sony game consoles.
