While most of us were out battling in the crucible of Destiny, the Wall Street Journal broke a very interesting story. In the story, they reveal that Microsoft is in advanced talks to acquire Mojang, the developing studio behind the insanely successful Minecraft.

According to the WSJ, “The deal would be valued at more than $2 billion and could be signed as early as this week.”, and while it is intriguing due to Markus Persson, aka Notch, being very adament many times that he wishes his company to stay independent, $2 billion is very large amount of money. In previous years, it doesn’t look like Mojang was looking to sell the company, especially not with the huge profits they were pulling in from Minecraft. Perhaps Microsoft finally made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Stay tuned to Max Level for any updates regarding this story.
