Today, Marvel rocked fanboys worlds by announcing a slew of new films.
Taking center stage in Los Angeles today, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige unleashed news of brand new films and release dates which include:
November 3, 2017: Black Panther
July 6, 2018: Captain Marvel
November 2, 2018: The Inhumans
May 4, 2018: Avengers: Infinity War Part 1
May 3, 2019: Avengers: Infinity War Part 2
Along with the new titles, Marvel announced alterations to already confirmed sequels. Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 will now hit theaters on May 5, 2017. Thor 3 is now called Thor: Ragnarok and will release July 28, 2017.
After endless speculation, Doctor Strange has been officially confirmed and given a date of November 4, 2016. Good luck Sir Benedict.
And dropping a gargantuan bomb Captain America 3 is now Captain America: Civil War, most likely confirming speculation that it’s based on the lauded Marvel comics storyline.
Black Panther has been heavily rumored for quite some time but never quite confirmed. Marvel confirmed the movie at the event, along with the casting of 42 and Get On Up star Chadwick Boseman. Solid casting, and another excellent role for the up and coming star.
But the biggest news of all was Marvels announcement and confirmation of a third Avengers movie, split into two parts. Seemingly based on the acclaimed Infinity Gauntlet storyline, the trailer for the previously mentioned The Avengers: Infinity Wars, showed footage from previous Marvel films, tying all the heroes together to go against villain Thanos. The footage brought the house down.
These announcements bring the total count of upcoming Marvel films to 11. With their continued success, constant announcements, and impressive casting, it seems like there is no end in sight for Marvel Studios. Excelsior!
