The Last of Us dominated this year’s D.I.C.E. Awards in nominations and wins — Will the action-packed title reign supreme once more during March’s BAFTA Game Awards? Earlier today, BAFTA announced the game nominees that feature some of 2013’s greatest titles including BioShock Infinite, Beyond: Two Souls, and Tomb Raider.

With a whooping ten nominations,  Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us leads the pack. Nominations include Best Action and Adventure game, Artistic Achievement, Multiplayer, Audio Achievement, Original Music, Best Performer (with both Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson receiving nods), Story, Game Design, and the coveted Best Game Award. If the D.I.C.E Awards were any indication of how the BAFTA Awards will turn out, it’s a safe bet to put money on this PlayStation exclusive.

GTA VNot trailing too far behind in nods is Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V which has nine nominations. GTA V goes head to head against The Last of Us in seven categories, including Best Game. And although the controversial title featured a glitchy multiplayer experience, it’s a top contender in the Best Multiplayer Category. Other nominations include Best Action and Adventure game, Game Innovation (allowing players to switch between three main characters), Audio Achievement, Performer (Steven Ogg for his portrayal of Trevor), British Game, Story, and Game Design.

TearawaySurprisingly enough, Media Molecule’s Tearaway racked up eight nominations, including Best Game. Although only available on the PlayStation Vita, its impact on the gaming world is as big as Media Molecule’s other hit title, LittleBigPlanet. The handheld title is a big contender for taking home the prize for Best Game Innovation, Artistic Achievement, Mobile & Handheld, and Game Design as it utilizes every bit of Vita’s hardware capabilities and really allows gamers to get lost in the paper filled world.

Speaking of paper, indie game developer Lucas Pope’s Papers, Please is nominated for four awards, including a surprising Best Game nod. Missing from the Best Game category is Irrational Games’ BioShock Infinite which is nominated for only four awards.
