So E3 is right around the corner and I had a few things that have been on my mind. Let’s start with the Nintendo and the WiiU.

When the WiiU was originally announce I was excited. I thought there would be a lot of new gameplay mechanics that companies would experiment with. Everything has been lackluster since it’s release. We are entering the second phase of the console and I am ready to see some games. New IPs are always great but they normally have issues out the gate. In order to get this console to sell I think a new Zelda, Smash Bros, Metroid, and Mario Kart will need to be released. I think at least 2 of the 4 will be shown at E3.

Now for the PS4. I’m not really worried about Sony this time around. During their reveal, they showed a lot of games with actual gameplay. The controller looks solid and I really don’t think the design of the console will matter that much. Even though people are ragging on Microsoft for showing so much on Media, I would like to see more of that from Sony. People forget that Sony wanted to do exactly what Microsoft has succeeded at.

Now for Microsoft. I was a little disappointed with their reveal until I remembered that they stated it would be a console reveal. We were told that there would not be many games showed. With that said, I still wanted to see more games or at least gameplay from those they showed. I am confident that Microsoft with impress us with their showing at E3. I just hope that all of these exclusive that they have are not Kinect heavy. They can have some Kinect functionality but we don’t need another Dance Central right now. I think the box and controller both look great and I actually like the name.

Now let’s talk about DRM and the used game debacle. Nintendo doesn’t need to worry about much here. Both Microsoft and Sony need to fork over more information. I will be disappointed if I am forced to pay full price for a used game. It defeats the purpose of buying it used. I also want the ability of being able to rent and borrow games but if “no used games’ becomes a reality, I will be able to move on. Many people are making a fuss about this now. These are the same people that stood behind this type of decision when it was originally announced. PC has been this way forever. Suck it up.

Those are my main thoughts for the moment. What are you all excited or concerned about? Let us know in the comments section.
