JRPG fans rejoice! There’s hope for a Final Fantasy VII remake! The director of FFVII, Yoshinori Kitase, is up to reworking the beloved classic in HD glory.

I can honestly tell you I would love to do that. If you simply ask me if I personally would like to do that, yes I would. Definitely. There’s no lie about it. But you must believe me when I say it would take a lot to happen.

Although the typical staff and budget are big factors in whether it’ll happen or not, with Kickstarter, anything is possible! Of course, it has to get to that stage first and I’m sure many fans are willing to throw all the money at the game.

Though Kitase is up to the task, he does have hesitations on working on such an endeavor.

Even if I casually say I would like to do that, because it would be a huge project I would have to motivate myself to the level that I really am prepared to take on this huge responsibility I don’t know if those three things will happen simultaneously. But should I ever take it on, it would have to be the biggest project I’ve done. My life work. So I would have to be as highly motivated as that to end up with something I’m very happy with. It’s a huge thing for me.

What do you think? Should the beloved classic get an HD remake or should it remain the classic we all remember it to be? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
