Add another film to the upcoming DC Movie Universe, as director Guillermo Del Toro has reportedly finished and handed in his Justice League Dark script to Warner Bros.
Speaking with Forbes about his work on the tv show The Strain, the Pacific Rim director briefly spoke on the status of the upcoming adaptation dark universe DC film. Forbes has yet to post the interview, but they mention that “the director confirmed the script’s completion and status while I chatted with him about his FX horror series The Strain.” Forbes will post the interview in the upcoming week.
The comic book series Justice League Dark focuses on DC’s group of other JL characters, such as Constantine, Swamp Thing, Frankenstein, Deadman, Zatanna, and others. They are a team tasked to deal with the mythical and supernatural aspects of the DC universe. With his work on the Hellboy series and the beloved Pan’s Labyrinth, Del Toro would appear to be a natural fit to bring this entertaining and offbeat series to the big screen. With DC finally attempting to get caught up with Marvel’s ever-expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe, now more than ever, this film seems to be a possibility. Hopefully WB gives the script the green light.
Until then, stay tuned to MaxLevel for all the latest updates surrounding Justice League Dark.
