This announcement made me smile uncontrollably. Backwards compatibility is something that I thought was lost in the wind. In the E3 presser Microsoft warmed many gamers’ hearts and announced that backwards compatibility is coming to the console this holiday season (and even sooner for preview members). This functionality was demonstrated with the original Mass Effect. The games that will work with this functionality will roll out over time. You will be able to play both physical and digital titles. The best thing about this entire announcement is the fact that you will not have to pay for content that you already own and you can play multiplayer with gamers on the Xbox 360. What a day. My heart is beating uncontrollably right now. I am sure that many gamers are ecstatic right now. Keep it locked for more information.
