A day before the show floor opens, HTC announces the HTC VIVE Pro. This is an upgrade to the current HTC VIVE targeted at users who want a premium experience. The Pro upgrades it’s resolution to 2880 x 1600 using duel-OLED displays. There have also been some improvements to the “mount” itself. Various ways to adjust the headset make longer play sessions a lot more bearable. On the audio side of things, there are now both integrated headphones and an integrated microphone. This has been something seen on other headsets and I’m glad to see HTC adding this.
Vive Wireless Adaptor
HTC also announced a wireless adapter the works for both the original VIVE and the new VIVE Pro. Many consumers and companies have wanted a wireless solution when it comes to the many headsets on the market. This looks to be a viable solution with low latency and small size.
There is no information the the release or price of the VIVE Pro at this moment. You can expect the wireless adapter Q3 worldwide.
