Once again, Zack Snyder surprised the audience at San Diego Comic-Con.
After giving us another look at Ben Affleck’s Batman just a few days ago, Zack Snyder claimed he had a “teeny little thing” to show all of the fans in attendance. The ‘Man Of Steel’ director then proceeded to show the world it’s first glimpse at ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice‘. Superherohype’s description of the footage is as follows:
“Batman is standing on a Gotham rooftop in the rain. His costume isn’t what we’ve seen already. It’s big and bulky, like his armor in The Dark Knight Returns. His eyes light up, solid white. He’s moving a tarp, revealing the bat signal He turns it on and the camera tracks up to the sky. Superman is there, hovering in the light, and he doesn’t look happy. His eyes light up with heat vision as he glares at Batman.”
The footage apparently brought the house down, and it’s easy to see why, as it sounds very exciting. The look of the film itself had a very The Dark Knight Returns look to it. Also worth noting is that Batman’s suit is different from what we’ve all seen from this movie so far, sounding more like a take on the famous suit Bruce wears when taking on Superman. While the footage isn’t available online yet, a leak is bound to happen, as with last year the ‘BvS’ footage from last years panel.
After the footage, Snyder then brought the actors portraying DC’s Holy Trinity on stage for the first time:
While they didn’t unfortunately stay after for questions, fans were treated to their first look at Gal Gadot’s fierce looking Wonder Woman shortly after:
While Gal Gadot has faced some heated criticism (some warranted, some uncalled for) since being cast as the Amazonian wonder, the first picture was met with a mostly positive reaction. The look on her face appears to show her wearing Diana Prince’s fierceness quite well, however the jury is out on the new costume. While it does appear to be an interesting take, the colors don’t pop like Wonder Woman’s costume should, although that may just be due to the lens used for the first photo, rather than the costume itself.
However this panel seemed to be an overall well-received one for the upcoming superhero epic, as the tide has seemed to turn on the initial anti-Batfleck rage, the footage was well-received, and people are beginning to gain faith in at least the look of Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Maybe this will be the movie fans are hoping for after all?
“Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” releases on May 6, 2016.
