Director and writer of The Grey and The A-Team is on board to write the script for Sony’s forthcoming Uncharted movie.

Carnahan, who is also directing next summers Bad Boys 3, spoke of his role of the long in production adaptation with Variety, and expressed desires to direct the movie as well.

“In a perfect world I would love to do both, but right now, I’m only on board to write the script,” said the director of 2007’s Smokin’ Aces, noting that Bad Boys 3 shooting prohibits him from directing the film.

The big-budget take on the acclaimed Uncharted series has been attached to multiple directors and writers over the years, such as American Hustle’s David O. Russell, and Seth Gordon, director of 2011’s Horrible Bosses.
