Since Summer is finally over, things are starting to cool down — all except the Fall’s anime lineup, which is heating up. Below, are some of my selections I suggest that you keep your eyes on during the coming months of Fall.


Terra Formars

Genre: Action, Horror, Science Fiction

Premieres: September 27th

Where you can watch it: Crunchyroll

Description: Earth has been afflicted by a  mysterious disease transmitted from Mars. In order for mankind to survive the disease, a genetically modified group of humans are sent to Mars to recover samples from the source of the disease, in hopes to find a cure. The only problem is, that Mars is swarming with a plethora of monstrous and murderous cockroaches. which evolved rapidly from being exposed to the conditions of Mars for 500 years.


Parasyte -the maxim- (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu)

Genre: Body Horror, Science Fiction

Premieres: October 9th

Where you can watch it: Crunchyroll

Description: An adaption of the popular 90’s manga — Parasyte centers around a 17-year-old boy named Shinichi Izumi, he lives in a quiet neighborhood with his parents in Tokyo. One night, Earth is invaded by parasitic worm-like aliens called Parasites, who control human brains by burrowing into their human host’s body via their ears or nose. Parasites that have found a host body will devour uninhabited humans as food.  One of these aliens tries to take control of the main character, Shinichi’s body, but is thwarted due to Shinichi wearing headphones over his ears, which causes the alien to burrow into his arm instead. Since the alien entered Shinichi’s body through his right arm, it doesn’t have control over his brain, and both beings are able to retain their intellect and personality. The alien adopts the name “Migi” (which is the Japanese word for right). The pair reluctantly and gradually form a strong bond with one another, by surviving frequent attacks from other Parasites that realize that Shinichi’s human brain remains intact. Their bond gives them an edge in battle against other Parasites.


Psycho-Pass (Season 2)

Genre: Crime fiction, Cyberpunk, Dystopian

Premieres: October 10th

Where you can watch it: Funimation

Description: In a dystopian future where an individual’s mental state can be read, to determine if they have the potential to commit a crime. Depending how “clouded” the individual’s color that represents their mental state, the more likely they are going to commit a crime. These potential criminals are either apprehended or killed by the police force, depending on their crime coefficient.

Fate/stay night

Genre: Action. Romance, Fighting, Supernatural, Drama, Thriller, Urban Fantasy

Premieres: October 10th

Where you can watch it: Crunchyroll

Description: Following 10 years after the events of Fate/zero, this anime chronicles the Fifth Holy Grail War. Seven masters of magic are given the power to summon powerful heroes from history as servants, to battle to the death until one pair remains, for the Holy Grail.  It is told that whoever possesses the Holy Grail can have any wish granted.


Log Horizon (Season 2)

Genre: Adventure. Fantasy, Science Fiction

Premieres: October 3rd

Description: 30,000 players are trapped inside in the popular game, Elder Tales. The anime follows the eight year veteran of the game, Shiroe — who forms a guild called log horizion with an old friend, in order to survive the virtual world that has now become their reality.

The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai)

Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy

Premieres: October 5th

Description: 10 years ago, hordes of Holy Knights were mercilessly slaughtered by the hands of an outlaw group by the name of The Seven Deadly Sins. Soon after the slaughter of the Holy Knights, the group disappeared, they are now rumored dead from being hunted down by the Holy Knights. The once protectors of the kingdom, the Holy Knights staged a coup d’état and captured the king and his family. The third princess, Elizabeth escapes from the Holy Knights, and then starts a journey in search of The Seven Deadly Sins, to enlist them to stop the tyrannical Holy Knights.
